The white wine Riesling Felseneck, Wallhausen, vintage 2011 from the winery Weingut Prinz Salm has been rated in 2012 with 92+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Riesling from the region Nahe in Germany.
White gold colour. Washy, greasy rocky notes on the nose, like damp red clay slate, deep, ripe, with (green) herbal notes. Straight and quite austere on the palate, even subtly green (like 2008), extremely mineral and with a fine, dense texture, extremely persistent and strikingly elegant. This wine, one of the house's best for many years, should definitely be given time to mature. An insider tip!
