The red wine Excellent Reserve, vintage 2004 from the winery Weingut R&A Pfaffl has been rated in 2022 by Peter Moser with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot from the region Lower Austria in Austria.
It has a deep garnet colour, with broad ochre reflections on the rim. There are aromas of ripe black berry fruit, a hint of prune, orange zest, and notes of fig and nougat. It is juicy, spicy and sweet, with a pleasant nougat core, ripe round tannins, and very good length. It has an opulent style, with dark chocolate on the finish, and it has further ageing potential.
