The red wine Zweigelt Waasn, vintage 2000 from the winery Weingut Schwertführer »35« has been rated in 2022 by Peter Moser with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Zweigelt from the region Lower Austria in Austria.
It has an impressively deep ruby colour, with purple reflections, and a subtle bright ochre rim. On the nose there is a lovely herbal savouriness, a delicate touch of fine oak, black berry fruit, and a hint of tobacco. It is complex, juicy and sweet, with ripe plum and blackberry, velvety tannins, some minerality, persistence, a nice fresh acidity, and subtle liquorice on the finish. It is a top wine, with great youthfulness, and it has certain ageing potential.
