The natural wine Furmint, vintage 2019 from the winery Weingut Toni Hartl has been rated in 2021 by Peter Moser with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Furmint from the region Burgenland in Austria.
It has a bright medium golden yellow colour, with brassy reflections. There are aromas of juicy pear fruit, with candied orange zest, blossom honey, fresh meadow herbs, and hints of yellow tropical fruit. On the palate it is taut, powerful, and yet with a fresh minerality, fine tannins, a salty aftertaste, and a nutty biscuit touch on the finish. It is a complex red wine substitute.
