The white wine »R Großes Gewächs« Randersacker Sonnenstuhl Silvaner trocken, vintage 2020 from the winery Weingut Trockene Schmitts has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 90 - 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Silvaner from the region Franconia in Germany.
As a grape variety, Silvaner has been massively underestimated - and still is. Here is another great example. White peach and a hint of cucumber on the nose, as well as chamomile - very interesting. It is pronounced on the palate and has a beautifully integrated acidity and slight bitterness.
