The white wine »Réserve« Chardonnay Réserve trocken, vintage 2016 from the winery Weingut Weedenborn has been rated in 2019 by Ulrich Sautter with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Rhine Hesse in Germany.
Pear, apple, apple skin, herbs and a hint of smoke on the nose. Well-built and balanced on the palate, again with apple and pear, a touch of vanilla; a patented wine that does not quite reach the tension and elegant expression of the 2017 vintage.
More about the tastingSpicy wood, gingerbread, aniseed buns, lime blossom. Iodine and saffron on contact with air. Some power on the palate, with a chalky mineral base, sweet fruit and a warming body, dense and long, with a supporting acidity that remains free of aggression.
