The orange wine Des Wahnsinns fette Beute Chardonnay, vintage 2017 from the winery Weingut Weinreich has been rated in 2018 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Rhine Hesse in Germany.
Six weeks of maceration, then on the lees in used vats and barrels. Bottled without added sulfur. Cloudy, reddish yellow. Grenadilla, banana. Dandelion, apple ring, complex and quite clear aroma. Good volume on the palate with measured alcohol, yeast and phenolics lining the buttery palate. Mild acidity and then a wide fanning spice on the finish: peppery, spicy, fresh corn notes, buttery.
