The red wine Yalumba Tri-Centenary Grenache, vintage 2017 from the winery Yalumba has been rated in 2022 by Anne Krebiehl MW with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Grenache from the region Barossa Valley in Australia.
There merest touch of mint precedes the notions of dried cherry that seem to have a depth fitting for 820 bushvines that were planted in 1889! More air reveals every more subtle notions of cherry and red berry, tender but most evocative. Uncanny depth and concentration combine with aromatic subtlety, alcoholic heat and a most tender structure. This is a most unusual but very touching wine, pure in its evocation of ripe, red fruit and full sunshine. A true original.
