Cool Climate Wine Summit 2026
Copenhagen’s Cool Climate Wine Summit 2026 brought together over 180 producers from around the world, celebrating the rise of cool-climate wines and spotlighting the growing potential of Danish and Nordic winemaking.
This past weekend, Copenhagen hosted the Cool Climate Wine Summit, a gathering where wine enthusiasts, wine lovers, and professionals from the wine industry came together to share experiences, explore new trends, and discuss developments within the world of wine. The event took place at Øksnehallen and kicked off with a lively Big Bottle Party on Friday, January 9.
With around 180 winemakers represented and wines poured from cool-climate regions across the globe, there was certainly no shortage of bottles to taste. The summit offered a broad insight into how cool-climate wines continue to evolve and gain recognition on the international wine scene.
Alongside many of the classic and internationally well-known wines, a strong selection of Scandinavian wines was also represented. Among these were wines from several Danish wineries, including Dyrehøj Vingaard, Stub Vingaard, Barfod Vingaard, and Hideaway Vingaard.
Danish wineries are gradually gaining a stronger foothold on the Nordic wine scene. However, according to Karin Hvidtfeldt from Hideaway Vingaard, greater awareness is still needed to fully showcase what Danish wines are capable of.
“There is a particular lack of focus and attention on the fact that many Danish wines pair extremely well with food. It would be an obvious choice to include Danish wines as part of a wine menu, for example,”
she explains, as we discuss the potential of Danish-produced wines.
The summit was organized by Uncorkmywine in partnership with ProWein Düsseldorf, which hosts the world’s leading trade fair for wine professionals. ProWein Düsseldorf will take place from March 15–17, 2026.
Overall, the Cool Climate Wine Summit 2026 proved to be a dynamic and inspiring event, highlighting both global cool-climate excellence and the growing potential of Nordic wine production.
Following the Copenhagen event, the Cool Climate Wine Summit Germany will take place within ProWein Düsseldorf from March 15–17, 2026, in Hall 1, Stand G29. As part of Europe’s leading wine trade fair, the summit will offer industry professionals exclusive tastings and in-depth insights into the global diversity and future of cool-climate wines.
