Portal Welcomes Alain Roux and The Waterside Inn for Anniversary Guest Appearance
As part of its 10th-anniversary celebrations, Stockholm restaurant Portal will host its third jubilee guest appearance with a culinary icon: Chef Alain Roux and the legendary three-Michelin-starred The Waterside Inn.
Founded in 1972 by brothers Albert and Michel Roux in Bray, near London, The Waterside Inn has held three Michelin stars since 1985, making it the longest continuously three-starred restaurant outside France. Today, it is led by Alain Roux, son of Michel Roux.
Portal’s chef-owner Klas Lindberg first connected with Roux and his team during the Roux Scholarship’s educational trip to Sweden in 2023. “The Waterside Inn is much more than a restaurant – it invests in the future and thinks long-term in a way that truly inspires me,” says Lindberg.
The exclusive dinner will take place on 20 October and feature a six-course tasting menu, complemented by snacks and petit fours. Half of the dishes will be created by The Waterside Inn team, while the remaining courses will showcase Portal’s cuisine.
The collaboration is organised in partnership with Magnusson Fine Wine and forms part of the wine club’s 100th pop-up event. “I am delighted to be returning to Stockholm and collaborating with Klas, Sanna, the team at Portal and our friends at Magnusson Fine Wine,” says Alain Roux. “Together, we share the same values: excellence, craftsmanship, genuine hospitality and a deep respect for quality.”
The dinner begins at 6 p.m., with a menu price of SEK 2,500 per person. Due to the nature of the event, special dietary requirements cannot be accommodated.
