Regional delicacies delight the palate while classical music delights the ears
Culinary delights meet culture: At this year’s Styrian festival “Styriarte,” the city of Graz transforms into a paradise for culture lovers. In this article, we'll tell you where you can go before and after their performances.
Once again this year, Graz is providing a platform for art and culture. The Styrian festival“Styriarte”will feature events almost every day from June 26 to July 26, bringing world-class culture to the Styrian capital. Whether it's concerts, operas, or engaging talks —the program has something for everyone. Even the youngest guests are in for a treat: with children’s operas and live readings of popular children’s books, culture comes to life for the little ones.
But there’s plenty to discover in downtown Graz offstage as well. The focus is on regional delicacies and carefully selected local ingredients, which are used to create dishes that are as impressive in flavor as they are in origin.
Head to the Lendviertel for an aperitif
Located in the heart of Graz’s Lend district, “Kabuff Bistro & Restaurant” stands out for its deliberately minimalist yet sophisticated menu. Vegetables form the foundation—in all shapes, colors, and forms of preparation. The dishes are served with sourdough bread. The products come exclusively from regional suppliers, which means that seasonality is a top priority. Orders are placed according to the sharing concept: everything is placed in the center of the table to be shared and enjoyed together. A bottle of natural wine goes perfectly with this, reflecting the authentic character of the cuisine.
The cooking is handled by Eva, the chef de cuisine and the creative force behind the innovative menu. The owners, Klemens and Julia, are fully immersed in their passion for interior design and latte art.
During the "Styriart" festival, the restaurant offers the perfect opportunity to experience innovation and creativity outside the concert hall.
After the stage comes the wine glass
Ahead of a day filled with culture, the “Weinbar Auenbrugger” invites you to stop by beforehand. Located on Südtiroler Platz, it combines historic charm with an urban atmosphere, making it an ideal gathering place for wine lovers.
The wine list features more than 250 select wines, many of which are available by the bottle or by the glass. This offers the perfect opportunity to discover something new: from Austrian classics and international rarities to natural wines and aged vintages.
Along with the wines, we offer small bites that are perfect for sharing — including antipasti, cheese, beef tartare, and daily specials.
