Just in time for the start of the vacation season, Falstaff provides you with an up-to-date culinary guide to Croatia. This year, we're not only naming the best restaurants in the country: For the first time, traditional konobe taverns have also been ranked in their own special list.

But it's not just the coast that shines: North of Zagreb, hearty dishes await in contrast to the light Adriatic fare, with dumplings, poultry, pork, buckwheat and cabbage the most popular ingredients. In cooperation with the Croatian National Tourist Board, Falstaff has listed the country's best gourmet restaurants and compiled them in the new International Restaurant Guide Croatia.
As in the previous year, three exceptional culinary institutions lead the ranking: Pelegrini in Šibenik, Lemongarden in Sutivan and Agli Amici Rovinj in Rovinj have each retained their 95 Falstaff points and 4 forks – making them essential for your culinary bucket list.
This year, Falstaff has also evaluated traditional konobe and compiled them in a ranking. The heart of Croatian hospitality beats in these cozy, local cellar taverns found along the coast. In addition to fish, pasta and stews, konobes also serve cold platters with ham, vegetables and bread, usually followed by a glass of rakija. With 92 Falstaff points, Konoba Zijavica leads the ranking, where Stiven Vunić prepares amazing fish and seafood with a flair for surprising combinations and the sublime craftsmanship.
