The red wine Sperss, vintage 2001 from the winery Gaja has been rated in 2005 with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Nebbiolo from the region Langhe in Italy.
Bright, deep ruby garnet; very lush, rich nose of plums, some cedar wood, cinnamon, rich blackberry; very dense on the palate, enormously dense tannin, sweet core, lingers for a very long time, closes the palate perfectly in the finish, lots of fruit melting in the aftertaste.
