The red wine Merlot Ginestraio (Fassmuster, wird nicht alleine abgefüllt), vintage 2015 from the winery Ornellaia has been rated in 2017 by Ulrich Sautter with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Tuscany in Italy.
High altitude, sandy loam on limestone, high skeleton content, planting density 9000, planted in 2003 - so it is still young, but could become a pillar in the future. Licorice, cherry, somewhat chocolaty, rather discreet wood, lots of juice on the palate, mineral base, mild acidity, light viscosity, tightly integrated alcohol, broad-grained tannin, which is absorbed in the soft part, only a little astringent at the very end.
