Are these the most exclusive Villas in the Maldives?

White sandy beaches, shimmering turquoise waters and a dreamlike island landscape. Falstaff takes a glimpse inside some of some of the most exclusive super-villas in the Maldives villas in the Maldives.

For many, the Maldives represent paradise on earth.  And if you have the wherewithal to stay in one of the villas described below, then you really can get a taste of the good life in the here and now. The John Jacob Astor Estate at the St. Regis Maldives Kommuli Resort, for example, sleeps up to twelve and comes complete with its own gym, cinema, spa and a 92-square-metre infinity pool. Over at the »Landaa Estate« in the Four Seasons Resort Maldives, guests have a total of 2000 square metres to play with. This includes three bedrooms, an 80-metre private beach, a stargazing lounge and a 25-metre pool with waterfall! The design of the building is wonderfully open too, seeming to consist almost entirely of glass. Another top place to stay is the »Ritz-Carlton Estate«, which is located directly on the beach of a private bay and offers 1500 square metres of space for up to six. In addition to their own private stretch of sand, guests also enjoy a pool and the added luxury of their own chef and butler.

»The Beach-House« offers the most space of all the villas at Patina Maldives. Consisting of floor-to-ceiling windows, guests can glory in the beauty of the turquoise lagoon and tropical garden without even setting foot outside. But when they do, their own private garden awaits with its large pool and terrace on which to relax. The 500 square metre »Beach Residence« at JAOLI Maldives has four bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, as well as its own library, butler and private beach. The »Stella Maris Ocean Villa« can only be reached by boat from the island resort and therefore offers the ideal escape from it all. Here guests are greeted with a bespoke BBQ area, pool and hammocks swinging gently above the Indian Ocean – enjoying the glorious sunsets from its specially designed deck is the icing on this particular tropical cake

The two-storey Vakkaru Over Water Residence can accommodate up to eight adults. From here, you get a breathtaking view of the sunset too and there is also a 55-square-metre infinity pool on the spacious terrace to top it off. Luxury tree houses offer another type of accommodation altogether. The »Treetop Pool Villa« is one of these so-called tree villas - and is also one of the highest of its kind. It offers a wonderful panoramic view of the island with a terrace that literally floats above the lush greenery below.  Here, the almost obligatory private beach is reached via a secret 20-metre-long hidden path.
