The Eurovision Song Contest is bringing an international crowd to Vienna in 2026 — and it’s not just music fans who are in for a treat. Food lovers can also look forward to a packed programme celebrating both Austrian cuisine and the culinary traditions of participating countries.

With the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna drawing ever closer, the city is gearing up not only with public viewings and fan zones, but also with a wide range of events tailored to food enthusiasts.

For many hospitality businesses, the ESC is an opportunity to introduce themselves to a new international audience. Visitors are often looking for approachable ways to experience the culinary culture of the cities they travel to — and Vienna’s restaurateurs and café owners have certainly risen to the occasion.

Over the years, Vienna has repeatedly shown that it knows how to accompany major events with an equally exciting culinary offering. Whether at festivals, sporting events or previous editions of the Song Contest, the city’s mix of iconic venues and temporary pop-ups has ensured that foodies never run out of options.

Eurovision Market Contest

On Wednesday, 13 May 2026, from 2 pm to 7 pm, Vienna’s Market Authority is hosting the “Eurovision Market Contest” at and around the Naschmarkt market hall. Visitors can expect a colourful programme with many market stalls offering specialties from participating countries. The culinary experience will be accompanied by live music featuring current and classic Eurovision hits.

Querfeld Venues Celebrate with ESC Nights

Vienna’s coffeehouses and restaurants are also embracing Eurovision fever throughout May. The Querfeld family’s venues — including Café Mozart, Café Landtmann and Café Museum — are hosting after-work parties, public viewings, DJ nights and Eurovision-themed culinary specials.

Guests can enjoy themed drinks and snacks alongside ESC hits, DJ sets and fan events. Gasthaus Napoleon and Crossfield’s Australian Pub are also joining the celebrations with public screenings, quiz nights and fan parties during Eurovision week.

Discover Hungarian Wines

At Espresso in Burggasse, visitors will have the opportunity to explore Hungarian wines on 11 May from 2 pm to 7 pm. Fifteen Hungarian winemakers will present their wines in the venue’s courtyard tasting event, aimed at giving Hungarian producers a platform in Vienna.

For those feeling hungry, fish tacos and fried asparagus will be served. Tickets start at €15.

Japanese Sandwich Pop-Up

Although Japan is not participating in Eurovision, a Japanese sandwich-inspired pop-up at Manana in Schulgasse 31 is offering a culinary detour ahead of the ESC festivities.

On 10 May, from 11 am to 3 pm, guests can try Tamago Sando with egg salad, spicy mayo, unagi sauce, pickles and chives. The Chashu Sando features pork belly, hoisin mayo, unagi sauce, pickles, spring onions, cucumber and coriander. For dessert, there are miso chocolate chip cookies.

“Eurofan Café”: Vienna’s Coffeehouses Become ESC Stages

During Eurovision 2026, Vienna’s iconic coffeehouses will become part of the “Eurofan Café” initiative. From 3 to 17 May, around 20 cafés across the city will serve as meeting points for ESC fans and delegations from all over Europe.

Each participating café will sponsor one or two competing countries, creating spaces for music, culinary experiences and cultural exchange in the heart of the city.

ESC in the Garden: Song Contest at Palais Auersperg

The Eurovision Song Contest shows will be screened live at Palais Auersperg on Tuesday, 12 May, Thursday, 14 May, and for the Grand Final on Saturday, 16 May 2026. Admission is free.

The screenings will take place regardless of the weather, moving indoors if necessary. ESC evenings will also be accompanied by daytime parties organised by SOUL. On 14 and 16 May from 2 pm onwards, DJ line-ups, live acts and show performances will create a festive atmosphere flowing seamlessly into the evening screenings.

Throughout Eurovision week, Palais Auersperg will also open daily from 3 pm, inviting guests to enjoy early summer in its garden. One highlight will be 15 May, when the “Hot Honey Picnic Club – 1 Year Anniversary” transforms the grounds into an open-air picnic day party complete with day drinking, DJs and plenty of room to dance.

ESC Cocktails at Hotel Schani

Eurovision fans can also follow the contest in Vienna’s Donaustadt district. Hotel Schani UNO City is hosting ESC Nights with public viewings during the semi-finals and final.

At the Seven Botanicals Bar & Kitchen, bartenders will serve specially created cocktails inspired by former Eurovision winners, alongside a dedicated ESC pinsa. Admission is free and events start at 8 pm.

Europe Meets Viennese Charm at Würstelstand Leo

Even Vienna’s famous sausage stands are joining the Eurovision celebrations. Under the motto “Europe Meets Viennese Charm”, Würstelstand Leo is inviting guests to celebrate together throughout the Song Contest week.

While performers compete for victory at the Stadthalle arena, visitors here can enjoy classic Viennese snacks in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere.

Eurovision Brunch at Café Cache

For anyone wanting to start their Eurovision days well-fuelled, Café Cache in Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus is serving brunch on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm.

Located within walking distance of Vienna’s Stadthalle, the café offers the perfect pre-ESC breakfast stop.
