New Direct Train Connects Prague and Copenhagen
Rail travel in Europe just became significantly more stylish: since May 1, Prague and Copenhagen are once again connected by a direct train service for the first time in over a decade.
While Prague captivates with its Gothic skyline and historic charm, Copenhagen is beloved for its Scandinavian minimalism, celebrated gastronomy and unmistakable sense of hygge — making the two capitals an ideal twin-city escape.
Operated jointly by Czech Railways (ČD), Deutsche Bahn and DSB, the new ComfortJet route links Prague with Berlin, Dresden, Hamburg and Copenhagen — making multi-city journeys across Europe easier than ever.
The modern ComfortJet trains offer onboard restaurants, Wi-Fi, bike storage and even a children’s cinema. With speeds of up to 230 km/h, the journey from Prague to Hamburg takes just six hours and 41 minutes, while Copenhagen can be reached in around 13 hours.
The new connection is also being celebrated as a step toward more sustainable travel in Europe — proving that slow travel can still move remarkably fast.
