Now open: the boutique hotel "Ardbeg House" on Islay
A visit to the Scottish island of Islay has always been something special for lovers of smoky whiskies. The newly opened "Ardbeg House" combines tradition, creativity and an unmistakable style in the heart of the charming coastal town of Port Ellen.
Those who check in here can not only enjoy the view of the harbor, but are also surrounded by an extraordinary design. The new boutique hotel Ardbeg House tells its own story in every area of the hotel. "Russel Sage Studio" is responsible for the extravagant living style. Together with over 20 Scottish artists and craftsmen, the studio has created a tribute to the southernmost Hebridean island of Islay - in the characteristic, somewhat rebellious "Ardbeggian" style.
The focus is on enjoyment, atmosphere and of course, whisky. The in-house Signature Restaurant and the newly interpreted "Islay Bar" - previously a popular meeting place for locals - serve specialties with a smoky note, such as hand-dipped scallops or meat grilled on peat from the in-house smoker.
A highlight for connoisseurs: the "Ardbeg House" serves exclusive rarities that are only available here, including the "Ardbeg House Reserve" and the "Ardbeg Homecoming". A daily fixture for guests is the Whisky Hour at 6:15 pm.
The boutique hotel has 12 individually designed suites and rooms, each of which takes up a chapter of the island's history - with great attention to detail and surprising finds.
The "Ardbeg House" is now open - for all those who don't just want to stay overnight, but want to immerse themselves in the smoky soul of Islay, in stories full of character and in a stay that you won't soon forget.
