Santa Lucia opens in Zermatt
Santa Lucia is opening its first branch in Zermatt. At the end of May, the team invites guests to "Porte Aperte", with pizza, vino and live music.
At the foot of the Matterhorn, the local dining scene is gaining a new edition: on May 23 , 2026, Santa Lucia in Zermatt will br the first Bindella branch to open outside major cities. With it, a piece of everyday Italian culture moves into the Alpine tourist resort, focusing on accessibility over exclusivity.
For years, the "Santa Lucia" brand has stood for uncomplicated Italian cuisine: pizza from the wood-fired oven, classic antipasti, pasta and a wine list focused on Mediterranean regions. This is precisely where the format could fill a gap: a place for uncomplicated, high-quality cuisine that appeals to both locals and guests without claiming to be a fine-dining experience.
Porte Aperte as a kick-off
On May 30, 2026, the team will host an open house from 10:30 AM to 10:30 PM. The program is clearly designed to welcome a broad audience. The morning will focus on coffee and croissants, followed by an all-day menu of antipasti, pizza and wine – including selections from the brand's own winery, Vallocaia. The event will be accompanied by live music, while a dedicated play area will be set up for children. Wolli, Zermatt's mascot, is also expected to make an appearance, underlining the local ties of the opening.
