An "Ode to Jonnie Boer" was the motto of the New Year's Eve menu at "Zomm". To explain: the man was the only three-star chef in the Netherlands and died in 2025 at the age of just 60. The two chefs Waal Sterneberg and Thomas Kluckner came together as a team. With Boer and later with Lukas Mraz, they learned this type of cuisine: close to nature, with a focus on flavor and without any meaningless additions. The two have been building up a fan base at the old "Zomm" in Reith since 2018. So it's no wonder that there is rarely an empty table at the new address - now also with rooms - on the edge of Seefeld. There is also a small à la carte menu and barbecues from the charcoal grill. The best way to find out why the restaurant is the best in Seefeld is to try the menu - three to six courses for 62 to 98 euros, which is ultra-affordable considering what is on offer. Snacks, such as grilled duck tongue teriyaki, are recommended as an aperitif. Things then get excitingly good with Alpine prawn crudo with Hokkaido pickled cucumber and grain salad and prawn sauce, to which Lapsang Souchong adds a delicate smoky note. Then an extraordinarily elaborate vegetable course: celeriac cooked in salt dough, grilled crispy on the cut side, sliced like a fan, served with leek oil, potato butter and almond curry - brilliantly good. Kemater beef comes in two courses - preceded by double consommé with vegetables and winter truffles, then meat braised and briefly roasted with Jerusalem artichokes. This is followed by a tribute to a legendary Parisian restaurant - "Ambroisie" chocolate tart. And sommelier Fabio Falbesoner and hostess Julia Lackner will make you feel good.
