"Tausendweiss" - under this name an extraordinary idea found its provenance in 2006: Karl Fritsch and the Bavarian wine wholesaler Guido Gottwald started to make wine together, freely following the motto: "Nobody needs it, but everybody will want it."
The parameters were clear from the start: No great emphasis on varieties, but rather on typicity, provenance and tradition, an ageing period of three years in wooden barrels - and only made in years that provide the conditions for a great wine. Furthermore, great emphasis is placed on physiological ripeness as well as biodynamic cultivation. The wines thus, with only 12.5% alcohol by volume, can be counted among those bottles that, with tension and finesse as well as minerality and saltiness, meet their own strict criteria.
"Tausendweiss" means 1,000 bottles (in bottle, magnum and double magnum) for each country. The limited edition is only offered exclusively in top restaurants and selected wine shops.
