On an area of 30 hectares, around two thirds of the vineyards produce white wine with a focus on Grüner Veltliner and Riesling and one third red wine.
With its symbiosis of climate and soil, the Wagram offers excellent conditions for Grüner Veltliner in particular. If you are looking for the Weinberghof's core competencies, the best wine to try is Grüner Veltliner, which is offered here both as a light summer wine and in the form of subtle single-vineyard wines, such as those from the Steinberg and Schlossberg vineyards. Among the red wines, the "Foggathal" cuvée is one of the best and most famous in Austria, but the juicy Pinot Noir also has an excellent reputation.
The head of the Weinberghof is winemaker Karl Fritsch. He has a very good reputation among winegrowers in the Wagram region due to his innovations and his ability to implement them and has been an excellent mentor for many here.
Both the growing number of his customers and the awards his wines have won are proof of his winery's success. Since converting to biodynamics in January 2006, nature and its resources have been at the forefront of Karl Fritsch's work, because for him it is not only an obligation but also a privilege to work with nature. At the end of 2007, Karl Fritsch was accepted into the circle of "Traditionsweingüter Österreich", which underlines his important role in the Wagram wine-growing region.
