Falstaff Wineguide Germany 2018

Mona Bastgen and Armin Vogel wrote to us: "Our vines stand on steep slopes, on small rock formations, supported by primitive masonry. Especially there, the warm weathered soil is interspersed with slate rock. We do without systemic plant protection and fertilizer salts, instead promoting the health of the soil and vines with manure and hardening, traditional methods." The wines of the two trained oenologists prove how well the vines are doing with this cultivation: the 16er Spätlese even outperforms its ten-year-old counterpart.
