Falstaff Wine Guide Germany 2024

At Markus Fries' biodynamic winery, the focus of the work is clearly on qualitative improvements in the vineyard. Part of the area is planted with ungrafted vines, which are often planted on steep slopes that Fries prefers. In the cellar, on the other hand, the winemaker largely refrains from intervening and lets nature take its course. The wines are consistently mineral and impress with a firm core. This year's textured Auslese from Sonnenuhr is particularly successful - a real festive wine.
