The family has been involved in viticulture for centuries, but it was not until 1992 that Werner and Pia Bühler founded the current winery in Kallstadt. When connoisseurs hear the name of this place, they naturally think of the top Saumagen vineyard and Riesling or Pinot Noir. And indeed, we make the dry Riesling Spätlese from the parade vineyard our tip: so fine and really reasonably priced. However, the chalky soil of the region also benefits the Chardonnay, but especially the "Chef" Sauvignon blanc - and even the "Seele" Syrah, which delights with savouriness, wild berry notes and a good finish.

The new Bühler winery was built on the edge of Kallstadt's top vineyard Saumagen in 1994, after Werner and Pia Bühler had taken over the business two years earlier. Since then, 18 hectares of vineyards have been cultivated. After years of traveling, son Jens Bühler is now responsible for the development of the wines and is becoming increasingly successful in capturing the character of the vineyard - as with the structured Riesling "Herzstück" from the Saumagen or the elegant Spätlese from the same vineyard. Jens Bühler works with a great deal of attention and feeling, which bodes well for the future.

If a wine is called "The Boss", then it should deliver and represent something. This is exactly what the powerful Sauvignon Blanc, matured in barriques, does, and it is also the leader of a first-class range from the Bühler winery. Founded in 1992 by Werner and Pia Bühler, it has been managed by Jens Bühler for several years and now covers around 20 hectares, including well-known sites such as the Kallstadter Saumagen. Not only "Der Chef", but also the full-bodied, substantial Syrah and the mineral Riesling from the Saumagen underline the further prospects of the Kallstadt estate.
