The white wine Gewürztraminer trocken, vintage 2018 from the winery Alde Gott Winzer Schwarzwald has been rated in 2020 by Ulrich Sautter with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Gewürztraminer from the region Baden in Germany.
Peppermint, rose blossom and blood orange, powerful on the palate, underpinned with delicate sweetness, fine fruit on the palate, a little over the mark in alcohol, but absolutely exceptional in the clarity of the Gewürztraminer fruit and the mineral base.
More about the tastingA distinctive nose with rose petals, lychee and very ripe mango and papaya, with some Asian spices too. On the palate there's a lot of power and also alcohol, which is integrated into a powerfully shaped structure. Intense spiciness and lots of substance, this needs equally powerful food.
