The red wine Solengo Toscana IGT, vintage 2017 from the winery Argiano has been rated in 2020 by Simon Staffler, Othmar Kiem with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Deep dark, rich garnet. Open-hearted, concentrated nose of ripe Amarena cherry, raspberry cordial, cassis and elderberry. Compact and layered on the palate, spreads out nicely with a great spectrum of flavours. Punchy, but unfortunately a bit drying on the finish from the excessive use of wood.
