The red wine »Edition Klaus Gelz« Sehndorf Marienberg Spätburgunder, vintage 2017 from the winery Bioweingut Ollinger-Gelz has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 90+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Spätburgunder from the region Moselle in Germany.
Ripe fruit on the nose: cherry, raspberry and also pickled raisins and some darker aromas of wood savouriness and wet forest floor. Juniper berries, too. Smooth and rather broad Pinot Noir with a pronounced structure, ripe acidity and ripe, well-groomed tannins. Delicate use of wood, some sour cherry; good, almost harmonious balance. Natural character, good length.
