The red wine Cavalliere d'Oro Alleanza Toscana IGT, vintage 2015 from the winery Castello di Gabbiano has been rated in 2020 by Simon Staffler, Othmar Kiem with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Merlot, Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
This has a dark garnet colour. It displays plenty of oaky character on the nose, along with some smoke, liquorice, blackberry, sawdust, and cranberry confit. It is powerful on the palate, with a full body, unfolding widely, then very marked by the use of oak, and it is quite drying towards the finish.
