The red wine La Prima Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG, vintage 2015 from the winery Castello Vicchiomaggio has been rated in 2019 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Sangiovese, Merlot from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Rich, bright ruby red with a slightly brightening rim. Extremely fruity nose of young plums and raspberries, with a hint of violets and a rich cassis aftertaste. Carried on the palate by superficial, lively acidity, also very fruity on the palate, opens wide, then slightly harsh on the finish.
