The red wine Châteauneuf-du-Pape, vintage 2016 from the winery Château de Saint Cosme has been rated in 2019 by Ulrich Sautter with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Cinsault, Clairette Blanc from the region Châteauneuf-du-Pape in France.
Aromas of cherry juice and milk chocolate are followed by a massive mouth attack; dry, mealy and high in tannin with mineral foundations on the palate. The well-integrated acidity suits the wine physiologically with a ripe red-berry finish making for a stylish and gastronomic Châteauneuf, whose high alcohol (15.5) does not show.
