Tasting Notes
Deep dark ruby garnet, purple reflections, opaque core, delicate rim brightening. Nuances of leather, some nougat, black cherries, candied purple fruit, still somewhat restrained, mineral touch. Juicy, elegant, fresh cherries, lively structure, fine fruit sweetness, silky tannins, mineral and long lasting, red berry nuances on the finish, shows length and certain ageing potential, a multi-faceted food companion.
More about the tastingVery pure cassis fruit, floral overtones. Elderberry, mint, some caramel. Complex, with much nuance. On the palate an elegant creaminess, not over-extended, then with a fine but also firm tannin at just the right level, obvious minerality in the background. The tannin has no green hints whatsoever and dissolves juicily as it peaks on the palate. The finish is compact and pointed, remaining harmonious for a long time. Extremely impressive, and for the long haul.
