Tasting Notes
Deep dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, subtly brighter at the rim. Chocolate-backed ripe, dark fruits of the forest, ripe cherry, fine herbal savouriness, some liquorice and a hint of caramel. Substantial, elegant, sweet fruit, pleasant acid structure, gripping, grown-up tannins that provide great length. The wine is mineral on the finish and is a powerful food companion. With red cherry in the back taste, it is overall still somewhat restrained. It will grow in a few years to perfection; it has enormous ageing potential.
