Tasting Notes
Dark ruby garnet, purple reflections, opaque core, delicate rim brightening. Ripe black cherries, blackberries, delicate hints of liquorice, fine tobacco nuances. Medium-bodied, red berry, fresh acidity, vivid, demanding tannins, mineral on the finish, delicately leafy, shows good length, still needs some patience.
More about the tastingIntense floral notes - violets, and liquorice, fragrant hints of new oak spices, in addition to spicy-mineral aromas. A grainy density to the palate, clear, dry, currently very closed and introverted, virile tannins hold firm over juicy pronounced fruit, sophisticated acidity structure, excellent tactile minerality. Classic, recognisably Montrose without any fuss or unnecessary ballast.
