The red wine Cheval des Andes, vintage 2020 from the winery Cheval des Andes (Cheval Blanc & Terrazas de los Andes) has been rated in 2025 by Peter Moser with 96 Falstaff points.
Dark ruby in colour with purple reflections, and subtle brightening on the rim. On the nose, black cherry compote, a hint of plum, delicate caramel and fine oak notes, some nougat, and candied orange zest. The full-bodied, elegant palate is complex with fine acidity and a saline minerality, persistent with dark nougat notes on the finish, full-bodied without being opulent, the very warm vintage was mastered very well allowing the freshness to be preserved.
