The red wine Black Giac, vintage 2023 from the winery Domaine Giachino has been rated in 2025 by Peter Moser, Ulrich Sautter, Benjamin Herzog, Dominik Vombach with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the region Savoy in France.
Enormous density with just eleven per cent alcohol by volume. Blackberries, plums, elderberries, violets and pepper on the nose. Subtle toast flavours from the barrel ageing tame the whole. On the palate, crisp tannins with fresh acidity, underpinned by dark fruit and subtle savouriness, whetting the appetite for the next sip. Brilliant - and an extra point for originality.
