The red wine Volnay, vintage 2017 from the winery Domaine Jean-Marc et Thomas Bouley has been rated in 2020 by Peter Moser, Ulrich Sautter, Benjamin Herzog und Dominik Vombach with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pinot Noir from the region Bourgogne in France.
There is an intense herbal savouriness on the nose, cherry, some tree resin and the wine is only beginning to evolve. The palate is juicy and silky, both tactile and mineral. The alcohol is well-integrated and there are fine-grained, grippy tannins, there is freshness and potential, great density. The wine is still taut and compact on the finish but shows good length. Will evolve into savouriness.
