The red wine Barolo Riserva DOCG Carretta Vigna Bricco, vintage 2018 from the winery Elio Altare has been rated in 2024 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 97 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Nebbiolo from the region Piedmont in Italy.
Powerful ruby with a fine garnet shimmer. Opens with slightly earthy notes of black truffle and balsamic tones, then ripe plum, some dried tomato, wild raspberry. A substantial and gripping start on the palate, lots of dark fruit, opens up with powerful tannins, full-bodied drive on the finish as well as some earthy tones.
