The red wine Vigna del Sorbo Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG, vintage 2015 from the winery Fontodi has been rated in 2019 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
A brilliant ruby colour with a slightly purple tinge. There is a dense aroma on the nose, with notes of plum and blackberry, and discreet earthy notes in the background. On the palate there are plenty of tight dense tannins, as well as dark berry fruit, but it seems locked in, and is slightly drying on the back palate. It has certain potential, and still needs long ageing.
