The red wine Vigna del Sorbo Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG, vintage 2019 from the winery Fontodi has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Brilliant dark ruby red with a delicately brightening rim. On the nose, pronounced aromas of ripe wild berries, rich Amarena cherries and a distinct peppery spice, with a leathery finish. It's tight-knit and pithy on the palate, spreading out with plenty of grip. It feels very juicy and powerful, with a subtle salty undertone and lots of character. Still needs some bottle ageing.
