The red wine Riserva Mazon Pinot Nero Südtirol DOC, vintage 2021 from the winery J. Hofstätter has been rated in 2025 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pinot Nero from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
Brilliant ruby red in colour with a bright rim. A delicate nose of sugared redcurrants and raspberries, followed by savoury notes redolent of forest floor and cedar wood. The palate reveals pleasantly silky tannins, with light, supporting bitter notes and plenty of fruit, with a medium to strong palate drive and long finish. Retro nasally complex. Has the ageing potential.
