Toasty wood, vanilla and intense raisin aromas. There's also intense yellow fruit,and apricot, alongside blueberry compote. A creamy approach stands out, with loads of fine tannin backed by juicy fruit behind. Shows the power of the south but does not get out of step with it: despite the high alcohol content, the balance is maintained, and a touch of sweetness in the fruit enhances the length. A kind of super Amarone on steroids.
