The red wine Südtirol Lagrein Riserva DOC, vintage 2007 from the winery Kellerei Girlan has been rated in 2013 with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Lagrein from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
Deep dark ruby, almost black. Extremely compact nose with intense notes of elderberries, fleshy dark cherries and pomegranate syrup, slightly earthy notes in the background. Builds up beautifully on the palate, opens with lots of dense tannins, coated in sweet enamel, dense and long, full-bodied pressure on the finish, yet remains very drinkable.
