The red wine Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG, vintage 2019 from the winery Le Macioche Famiglia Cotarella has been rated in 2025 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Brilliant ruby red with a purple shimmer. Concentrated fruit on the nose, redcurrant and plum, followed by notes of fresh thyme and dark chocolate. Precise on the palate with plenty of power, a herbal savouriness, notes of sage and mint, builds up gradually, with beautiful interplay between the ripe tannins and vibrant acidity, into a salty finish.
