The red wine Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG, vintage 2018 from the winery Lungarotti has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 94 Falstaff points.
It has a dark ruby red colour, with some purple tints. There are notes of fine oak on the nose, then rich cherry and plum, with a reminiscence of dried blood orange on the finish, and elegant aromas of pepper and curry round off the bouquet. On the palate it has beautiful notes of chocolate, a tightly woven structure, balance, and coherence, and it is gripping and juicy on the finish.
