The red wine Manso de Velasco Old Vines, vintage 2012 from the winery Miguel Torres Chile has been rated in 2017 by Peter Moser und Ulrich Sautter with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the region Central Valley in Chile.
On the nose beetroot, dried parsley root, a touch of cinnamon and oak spice, then secondary blackcurrant aromas, fresh rather than jammy. On the palate a silky attack, mild and round flowing, with tannins receding in fullness but then emerging on the finish with power and slight graininess. It has a soft yet vivid acidity, not broad, juicy elegance, many intermediate tones, fine rather than massive, with a fruity finish that is clear and clearly complex in its traits but still closed. On the finish a peppery note, or like damp road dust.
