The red wine Costa delle Corone Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOC, vintage 2009 from the winery Monteci has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Corvina Veronese, Corvinone Veronese, Rondinella from the region Veneto in Italy.
It has a bright ruby red colour. On the nose there is plenty of dark berry fruit, but also especially fine mushroom and resinous notes. It is crisp and juicy on the palate, and markedly fruity on the mid palate, and there is good traction and power, leading to a firm drive on the finish.
More about the tastingBrilliant, rich garnet red. Shows notes of pickled walnuts and sandalwood, dark, ripe fruit. On the palate amazingly fresh, juicy, shows notes of fresh plums and figs, fine-meshed tannin, reverberates long.
