The red wine Anticus Merlot Cabernet Riserva Südtirol DOC, vintage 2018 from the winery Nals Margreid has been rated in 2021 by Othmar Kiem und Simon Staffler with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
It has a brilliant vivid ruby colour, with garnet reflections. It is distinctly fragrant with ripe blackberry, cassis, fine mint, some sea buckthorn, clove, and light oak spiciness in the background. On the palate it is juicy, full-bodied, filling the whole mouth, and with fine tannins it has grip, and a lovely savouriness on the finish.
