The schillerwine »Schillerwein« trocken, vintage 2018 from the winery Parfum der Erde has been rated in 2021 by Ulrich Sautter with 90+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the region Württemberg in Germany.
Light salmon pink in colour. Spontaneous fermentation aromas show on the nose, with a slightly savoury character mixing with some wood, a hint of ester, and concentrated red berry fruit. Some tomato paste also lurks in the background. In the mouth it's initially characterised by those yeasty aromas, feeling plump in structure and slightly viscous, but then becomes marked by a powerful phenolics leading to liquorice aromas on the finish. A Schiller as Vin Nature!
More about the tastingSalmon pink in appearance. Intense apple and sweetened red berry scents. Supple and soft on the palate, rounded fullness, delicate sweetness, cultivated acidity, medium-weight fruit and good substance. Nuances of rosehip tea, black tea and tart apple. A drinking pleasure.
