The fortified wines Poças Vintage Port DOC, vintage 2007 from the winery Poças has been rated in 2016 with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Touriga Nacional from the region Douro in Portugal.
Dark, almost black ruby garnet, opaque core, violet-ruby reflections. Ripe cherry fruit with delicate vegetal undertones on the nose, some damp undergrowth, wild berry confit, a hint of pepper and liquorice. Elegant on the palate, juicy-sweet texture, present tannins, some dark chocolate, becomes somewhat more opulent on the finish, still lacking the final polish, somewhat astringent, still needs time, ultimately remains rustic towards the end.
